Delaware beaches moving FAQ

How is the flat price kept firm?

Mary looks at what you are actually moving and how tricky the access is, gives you one price, and holds to it. As long as the load matches what you described, move day lands on that exact flat price, with no meter and no rounding up at the end.

Are the movers Mary’s staff or hired out?

Our own, every time. Mary keeps a trained, background-checked crew, hands like James and Nick, and runs every job herself, so no broker takes a cut and no stranger walks into your home.

When and how do I pay?

Payment is due when the job is done, other than the small refundable deposit on your date. You can pay by card, check, or cash, and you approve the flat price on site before the crew pulls away.

Do you take a deposit?

A small refundable deposit reserves your crew and your date, and that is the only thing owed up front. The rest is paid once the job is complete, and the quote is always free of charge.

Will stairs, packing, or a piano cost extra at the end?

No. A third-floor beach-house carry, a full pack, an antique or a piano, all of it is in the flat price before the first box moves, so the number never drifts from what Mary quoted you.

Can you move in the busy summer and the off-season?

All year. Through the summer rental rush we book early and start at first light to beat the beach traffic; in the quiet season we have more room on the calendar. Your date holds whether it is a July changeover weekend or a calm January morning.

How do you handle the beach summer traffic?

We plan around it. The crew times the drive against Route 1 and the Coastal Highway, starts early to beat the changeover-day backups, and works the side roads, so the window we gave you still holds.

Do you help with senior and downsizing moves?

All the time, and it is some of our favorite work. Mary and the crew move patiently into the 55-plus communities around Millsboro, Long Neck, and Ocean View, help sort and downsize, and set the new place up so it feels like home from day one.

Do you move pianos and antiques?

Yes, moving those pieces is already covered by your flat price. Pianos, antiques, curio cabinets, and the rest of the delicate, awkward pieces are wrapped, padded, and carried by folks who box things for a living, so the fragile pieces reach the new home just as they left.

Can you handle condo and HOA building COIs?

Yes. Plenty of beach condos and 55-plus communities want a Certificate of Insurance and a reserved elevator or move-in window. Pass along the building or association rules and we handle the COI and lock the window in advance.

Do you load PODS and containers, or store things between homes?

Both. Mary’s crew packs and loads your POD or container tight and padded so nothing shifts, and we can coordinate storage for the gap between homes. It is folded into your flat price rather than turning up later as a surprise.

How much notice should I give?

A week or two out suits most moves, and summer weekends and month-ends fill up soonest. When the crew has a gap we will still take a short-notice or next-day job, so a quick call to Mary is always worth it.

What keeps my floors, walls, and things safe?

Runners go down on the floors, the door frames and railings get padded, and every piece is wrapped before it moves, so the old place and the new one both come through clean and nothing gets so much as a scratch.

Which parts of the Delaware beaches do you cover?

All of Sussex County and the beaches, from Rehoboth, Lewes, and Dewey down through Bethany, Ocean View, and Fenwick, inland to Millsboro, Georgetown, and Milton, plus long-distance moves up and down the coast.

Ready for a flat price you can plan the whole beach move around?

Your flat price comes straight from Mary, usually the same day you ask.
